Over the years the U.K. Associates of BIOS have provided generous bursary funding to many students from institutions all over the U.K. enabling them to participate in research internships at ASU BIOS. Students from institutions such as University of Southampton, University of Exeter, University of Liverpool, University of Reading, Bangor University, Swansea University, University of the Highlands and Islands, Cardiff University, Imperial College London, University of Cambridge and University of St. Andrews have received financial support.
The U.K. Associates of BIOS are offering bursaries for U.K. students to participate in a 12-week research internship at ASU BIOS. These bursaries will cover the cost of accommodation and meals at ASU BIOS, as well as providing a small student stipend and a contribution to research expenses associated with the research project. Bursary funds do not cover travel expenses or medical/travel insurance.
At the conclusion of their internship, successful candidates will give an oral presentation outlining their research topic, experimental methods and results. In addition, they are required to provide a written project report.
Eligibility: Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in U.K. colleges or universities are eligible to apply for U.K. Associates of BIOS funding. Recent graduates may also be considered provided they intend to continue their career in marine science in the U.K.
